Police ask for public’s help locating Rockford man accused of burning infant’s legs

ROCKFORD – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man police say burned a child’s legs in May.

Princeton Wrancher, 33, of Rockford, is wanted for aggravated battery of a child and aggravated domestic battery. His bond has been set at $500,000.

Authorities say the incident occurred the afternoon of Monday, May 14. At about 3:30 p.m. patrol officers from the
Rockford Police Department responded to a local hospital in reference to an 11-month-old victim who was suffering from severe burns to the lower legs.

Police learned during their initial investigation that the child was injured in an apartment in the 3300 block of Sun Valley Terrace and identified Wrancher as the suspect.

Details of a follow-up investigation were forwarded to the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, and a warrant for Wrancher’s arrest was issued. He is still at large.
