ROCKFORD – The body found in the Rock River Thursday is that of a 62-year-old woman, officials reported Friday.

The victim’s name and how she died are being withheld pending notification of family.

The body was found by fishermen at around 1 p.m., Thursday near Route 2 near U.S. 20. It was initially reported the victim was a woman in her 20s.
