Sister’s Cafe opens downtown

ROCKFORD – Sister’s Cafe is now open at 307 S. Main St., downtown.

The restaurant is the second location for Sister’s. The eatery has been a staple on Kilburn Avenue for more than 20 years. Owner Latreece Nealon told The Times last year that she is exited to expand during a time of major downtown revitalization.

“People like our food,” she said. “And if you really think about it, there is no breakfast cafe downtown, so we are excited to serve the downtown community.”

The South Main Street menu will mirror what Nealon serves on Kilburn–breafast all day, meatloaf, tacos, roast beef, biscuits and gravy, Friday fish fry and steak and eggs on the weekend. A future dinner menu may follow.

A grand opening is also in the works.

Sister’s is across the street from the future Embassy Suites and Convention Center. R.
