ROCKFORD – A Rockford man is behind bars after police say he was in possession of drugs on the city’s south side.
Jesus Zarate-Garcia, 31, of Rockford, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, two counts of manufacturing and delivering heroin and possession of a controlled substance.
The charges against Zarate-Garcia stem from a months-long investigation by detectives from the Rockford Police Department after numerous complaints about the sale of illegal narcotics in the area of 11th Street and Sandy Hollow Road.
Police executed a search warrant at Zarate-Garcia’s residence in the 1400 block of Sandy Hollow Road Friday, Sept. 28, and found cocaine, two firearms and more than $5,000 cash, police said.
Zarate-Garcia is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a $400,000 bond. He’s due in court Nov. 9. R.
