Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria opens in Rockford

ROCKFORD —  Northbrook-based Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria opened its doors to a new pizzeria in Rockford,  Monday.

While Rockford space does not include a dining room, hungry fans can order for carryout or delivery from the from 6240 Mulford Village Drive. The Malnati family has become famous for their original recipe, and top-notch quality and hospitality.

The company has hired more than 35 local employees to operate the Rockford location.

“My dad always preached to me the importance of hiring great people, offering the best service and product possible, and taking care of the community. We’re excited to continue to live out these values in Rockford,” Owner Marc Malnati said.

Marc is the son of founder, Lou Malnati.

“We take pride in the fact that we become ingrained in the communities we serve and can offer a fresh, delicious, and unmatched product at a value,” he added. “We look forward to providing our famous Chicago-style deep-dish pizza in Rockford for years to come.”

About Lou Malnati’s

Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940s, working in Chicago’s first deep-dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Sons Marc and Rick, along with Jean, took over the business in 1978, after Lou died. Today, Lou Malnati’s has more than 50 Chicagoland locations and three in Phoenix. R.
