Rockford man charged in Flamingo Slots burglary

ROCKFORD — A Rockford man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a slots parlor and attempted to streal money Monday morning.

Michael Fryer Jr., 36, is charged with burglary, and currently jailed on a $250,000 bond.

Police say at around 4 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at Flamingo Slots, 7521 Walton
St. When they arrived, officers learned that someone had broken in and attempted to remove money from the gambling machines.

The suspect was unable to break into the machines and fled without obtaining any cash. A short time later, SCOPE officers located a man, later identified at Fryer, in the 3400 block of
Latham Street. He was taken into custody.

Fryer is due in court March 5. R.
