Three Auburn girls sign letters to play college basketball

ROCKFORD — Three members of this year’s Auburn Knights girls basketball team are moving on to the next level.

Friends, family and teammates gathered in the Auburn cafeteria Tuesday to watch Sydney Erwin, Nya Taylor and Nia Adams-Neal sign letters of intent.

Erwin signed with North Central College in Naperville. Taylor will play next season at Blackhawk Community College in Moline, and Adams-Neal will be at Parkland Community College in Urbana.

Erwin averaged 4.8 points and 2.4 rebounds. Taylor averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals. Adams-Neal was the Knights leading scorer at 10.6 points per game and added 3.5 rebounds per game.

Auburn went 15-15 this season under coach Darryll Watkins. R.
