Woman charged in Rockford stabbing incident

ROCKFORD — A Rockford woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she stabbed a man during a domestic dispute.

Taylor Martin, 23, is charged with aggravated battery with a knife, aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.

Police say officers arrived at a residence in the 1300 block of South Sixth Street at about 9:45 p.m., and located a 33-year-old man who was suffering from a stab wound to his back. The victim was inside the residence with another woman when Martin allegedly entered. A physical altercation ensued, and Martin allegedly stabbed the man.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. His wound was  not life threatening.

Martin stayed on the scene and was taken into custody without incident. She is being held without bond in the Winnebago County Jail. Her first court date is pending. R.
