Woman charged after police recover 3,000 pills from Rockford home

Staff Report

ROCKFORD – A Rockford woman was arrested Thursday after police say they recovered thousands of pills from her house.

Elisha Meneghetti, 40, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested at her home after a weekslong investigation by the Rockford Department, Homeland Security and United States Postal Inspectors.

The investigation was sparked by tips about alleged drug sales at 3129 Kentwood Parkway and information police say indicated pills were being shipped to the address.

Authorities say officers located more than 3,000 pills covered under the Controlled Substance Act.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are possible, police said. Meneghetti was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
