Four RPS 205 athletes named to All-NIC-10 girls track team

ROCKFORD – Guilford triple jumper Shaniah Johnson headlines the list of Rockford Public Schools All-NIC-10 girls track athletes.
Johnson won the NIC-10 triple jump championship and then qualified for the IHSA state track meet for the second straight year.
Guilford teammate Valerie Daehler, Kayla Wells of East and Hazel McClinton of Jefferson joined Johnson on the first team.
Daehler won the NIC-10 long jump championship and tied for first in the high jump. Both Johnson and Daehler are juniors and will be back next year to add to their trophy cases.
Wells won the NIC-10 pole vault title. McClinton finished second in both the 100 meters and 200 meters.
