SwedishAmerican welcomes new nurse practitioner at Rochelle Clinic

ROCKFORD – SwedishAmerican has announced that Nurse Practitioner Katherine Coulter has joined the medical team at the Rochelle Clinic, 380 IL Rte. 38 East, Rochelle.

Coulter comes to SwedishAmerican with a board certification as a family nurse practitioner and has wide range of special interests interests in allergies, bariatrics/obesity, cardiac health, pediatric care, preventive medicine and weight loss. She received her DNP from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Downers Grove and her master’s degree in Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University.

“As a nurse practitioner, I am able to help people on a daily basis and make a difference in their lives,” she said. “I am passionate about medical research and utilizing innovative methods to improve healthcare for patients and populations. I chose nursing as my profession because I truly believe that the desire to help people through nursing is a calling, and I feel drawn toward helping those in need.”

Coulter added that her philosophy of nursing incorporates the knowledge of medicine while blending it with interpersonal, compassionate care that respects the dignity of each patient.

Katherine is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, a junior counselor for Sigma Theta Tau, Beta Omega Chapter and a member of National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing.
