5 charged in drug investigation

ROCKFORD – Five people have been charged after a monthslong drug investigation involving a residence in Rockford and Loves Park bar.

According to police, authorities received complaints that 38-year-old Michelle Savaiano, a bartender at Busters Bar, was dealing drugs at her home in the 200 block of North Madison Street, where police say several people were involved in the delivery of controlled substances. Search warrants were executed at the address, and police recovered two firearms, cocaine, hydrocodone and cannabis.

Savaiano faces two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Erich Tresemer, 42, of Rockford, was jailed on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cannabis, and possession of a controlled substance. 

Rockford resident, 26-year-old Kody Lewism and Christopher Bird, 33, of Freepor,t are charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Thirty-five-year-old James Earlywine, of Dakota, remains at large. He’s also charged with possession of a controlled substance. 

The investigation at Buster’s Bar is ongoing. Police say more arrests are possible.
