ROCKFORD – A 39-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday after being shot in the area of Broadway and 24th Street. 

Rockford Police Public Information Officer Christie Castillo said patrol officers responded to the area around 4:30 p.m. and learned the victim was struck by gunfire while sitting in a vehicle and transported herself to the hospital. No updates on her condition have been reported.
