ROCKFORD –  The Rockford Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday on the city’s east side.

Police say at around 7:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to a local hospital in reference to a walk-in shooting victim. Police say a 34-year-old man was in the 4700 block of East Lawn Drive  attempting purchase marijuana when he was shot in the shoulder. His injuries are not life threatening. 

No suspect information was reported.
