ROCKFORD – A 28-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday morning after being shot on the city’s west side. 

At approximately 11:45 a.m., patrol offers responded to shots-fired report in the 700 block of North Winnebago Street and located the victim outside. He was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown as of this report. No suspect information is available.

The shooting occurred in the area of this morning’s double homicide at 727 Bruce St. Police say both incidents do not appear to be random.
