ROCKFORD – Next Rockford has announced a new benefit to support the city’s effort to create a Family Peace Center.

The group will hold a fun run at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at Prairie Street Brewhouse.

“This should be a fun race for the entire family,” organizer Rob Young said.  “We want people to come out, enjoy a non-completive run or walk along the river, and support a great cause.”

After the run, participants are invited to a post-race celebration at Prairie Street Brewhouse for refreshments.

“The membership of Next Rockford feel very strongly that the creation of a Family Peace Center will have a significant and long lasting impact on the health of our community,” Young added. “We’re proud to come together and raise funds to support a place which will provide hope to so many local survivors.”

Prairie Street Brewhouse is at 200 Prairie St., Rockford.
