ROCKFORD – SwedishAmerican Hospital will host an array of community events this fall.

Women and Children’s Center Beam-Raising Ceremony: 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, at SwedishAmerican Hospital Heart Hospital Entrance, 1401 E. State St. Ringland-Johnson Construction Company and SwedishAmerican will celebrate the final beam placement on the four-story tower. The event will feature brief speeches from SwedishAmerican President and CEO Dr. Michael Born and Ringland-Johnson President Brent Johnson.

Breastfeeding Support Group: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday (Oct. 15, 22, and 29; Nov. 5, 12, 19) at Renaissance Pavilion, 1340 Charles St., second-floor conference room. Call 779-696-4890 for more information.

Mended Hearts Chapter 317 Meeting: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at SwedishAmerican Hospital, 1401 E. State Street, First-Floor Conference Center. Mended Hearts is a national organization dedicated to transitioning individuals and their families from heart patients to heart attack survivors. Meetings are open to anyone, but especially those who have suffered a cardiac episode, as well as their families and friends. Contact Jim Blank at jrx40@aol.com for more information.

More Thank Skin Deep: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Regional Cancer Center at 3535 N. Bell School Road. This workshop is designed for women receiving cancer treatment who would like to learn more about hair loss, skin care, makeup and the emotional impact of cancer. Pre-registration is required. Riverwest Clinic Trunk or Treat: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at Riverwest Clinic, 815 Marchesano Drive. SwedishAmerican staff and the Rockford Fire Department will use the parking area and street in front of the Riverwest Clinic as a safe trunk-or-treat spot with candy and games for children in the neighborhood on Halloween.
