Rockford Police, YMCA present Winter Wellness Expo Feb. 24

ROCKFORD – The Rockford Police Department, along with Molina Healthcare of Illinois, will present the Winter Wellness Expo Monday, Feb. 24, at the YMCA Log Lodge, 200 Y Blvd.

The event will will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Although the target audience is the city’s homeless population, organizers say there will be many resources for the general public such as blood pressure and glucose checks, HIV testing, nutrition information and Narcan training.

Free haircuts, a free lunch provided AmeriCorps and transportation will provided by the YMCA.

“This is our community,” ROCK House officer Patrice Turner said. We are concerned about all of our citizens and this Winter Wellness Expo has something for every walk of life. Living a healthy life is also a large focus for us and we’ll have all types of resources to promote healthy lifestyles. We genuinely care about our community,”

Transportation will be provided from the Jubilee Center, 412 N. Church St.;
Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St.; Carpenter’s Place, 1149 Railroad Ave.; and Miss Carly’s, 1125 5th Ave.
