Rock Valley delays opening of Advanced Technology Center until January 2022

BELVIDERE — Rock Valley College announced Monday that it is postponing the opening of its new Advanced Technology Center (ATC) until January 2022.

“Like much of the nation, we are experiencing equipment and material delivery delays related to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Heather Snider, RVC communications vice president, said in an email. “We are committed to educational excellence and will continue to offer advanced technology programs on our Main Campus and at the Stenstrom Center for Career Education.”

Snider said RVC decided it was better to delay the opening until it can provide an exceptional educational experience for students.

“We look forward to welcoming students, businesses, and community members to the ATC in January,” she said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held to mark the center’s opening.
