ROCKFORD – The Spring Creek Road resurfacing project from Parkview Avenue to Spring Brook Road is nearing completion, city public works officials announced Thursday.

According to Public Works Director Mark Stockman, final adjustments on manhole elevations began Wednesday, May 23, and are anticipated to be completed by the end of this week. There will be moving lane closures during that time, he said.

The final paving operations will immediately follow manhole adjustments and are expected to be completed by July 3. Permanent striping and landscaping restoration are also scheduled to be done ahead of the Fourth of July.

Spring Creek Road remains open during construction, although city officials urge motorists to seek alternative routes until the project is finished. Drivers are reminded to stay alert for workers at all times when driving through the construction zone and to be mindful of the construction zone speed. R.
