ROCKFORD – Three Rockford men have now been charged in connection with a shots-fired incident that took place in March at CherryVale Mall, Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato’s office reported Wednesday.

Jamain L. McFadden, 20; Marchello D. Johnson, 28; and Tony L. Craig, 26, are currently lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a host of charges.

McFadden faces two counts of possession of a firearm by a gang member and single counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification card, and resisting. He pleaded guilty on April 12. His next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3.

Johnson was arrested Monday, June 25, and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm; two counts of mob action; and criminal damage to property. A warrant for his arrest was issued on April 26. Johnson is scheduled for an Aug. 8 arraignment.

Tony Craig was arrested on April 7 and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and two counts of mob action. He’s due back in court July 19.

Craig is being held without bond. McFadden’s bail is set at $305,000, Johnson’s at $750,000.

The charges stem from a March 18 fight that broke out inside Barnes & Noble and spilled into the parking lot, where police say shots were fired. R.
