Rockford man arrested in child sex case

ROCKFORD – A Rockford man has been charged with sexual assault of a child after a month’s long investigation.

Damien Dagley, 23, of Rockford, was arrested Monday, July 9. He’s been charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault and a single count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.




Police say for the past several months, detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit have been conducting an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 that took place at a residence in the 4000 block of Laramie Lane. Dagley, who is known to the victim, was identified as the suspect and a warrant issued for his arrest.

Dagley is currently lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a $500,000 bond. His next court date is Aug. 24. R.
