Victim in Rockford homicide identified

ROCKFORD – The man shot and killed Wednesday on the city’s west side has been identified as 35-year-old Prince Chatman, police reported Thursday.
Chatman was found at around 4 p.m., inside an SUV in the area of Chestnut Street and Johnson Avenue.
The vehicle had been struck by several gunshots before it crashed near an abandoned house.
The incident is believed to be isolated, police said. No arrests have been made as of this report.
