ROCKFORD – Rockford Police officers, on Thursday, Aug. 30, responded to a criminal sexual assault victim at a local hospital.

Detectives with the Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted a follow up investigation and identified the suspect as Carlos Ontiveros, 26, of Rockford.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized charges. A warrant was obtained and Ontiveros was arrested Friday, Nov. 9.

He’s charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault.

Ontiveros is currently free on bond and is due back in court Dec. 27. R.
