Rockford man wanted in child battery case

ROCKFORD — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Rockford man who police say battered a child, authorities reported Friday, March 15.
Jerry Coffee, 36, is charged with aggravated battery of a child after and months-long investigation. Initial bond is set at $100,000.
Police say detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into reports of battery to a child younger than 13 in the 3800 block of Thyme Drive.
