Second suspect charged in Winnebago County homicide

ROCKFORD — A second man has been charged in the shooting death a 31-year-old Rockford man.

Joshua J. Whittie, 19, is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and concealing a homicidal death in the death Jamie R. Stephens, whose body was found last Dec. 10 at the 9200 block of Knapp Road. Authorities say Stephens was shot at another location and moved to where his remains were discovered. 

Nickles T. Parks, 26, faces similar charges. He was arrested in January and is being held in the Winnebago County Jail. His bond is set at $2 million.

Whittie is in custody at another correctional facility. R.
