ROCKFORD — Detectives with the Rockford Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday on the city’s west side.

Police say shortly before 4 a.m., Rockford officers responded to the  4100 block of Auburn Street and found a 32-year-old man dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The identity of the victim is not being released pending notification of his family. No suspect information has been reported.
