Police investigate Rockford home invasion
ROCKFORD – Investigators with the Rockford Police Department are searching for a 21-year-old man they say committed a home invasion early Thursday.
According to a release from Public Information Officer Christie Castillo, just before 2 a.m., officers responded to the 4500 block of Sunderman Road in reference to a home invasion. There, they learned an armed man forced his way into a residence occupied by a 42-year-old woman.
The suspect, who police say is known to the victim, made demands and took a firearm from the residence before fleeing. No one was hurt.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6-0, 220 pounds. He was wearing all dark clothing.
The incident does not appear to be random.
