Rockford man charged with sexually abusing child

ROCKFORD – A Rockford man is behind bars for the alleged sexual assault of a child.
According to a release from Rockford Police Public Information Officer Christie Castillo, 31-year-old Deangelo McCall was arrested Sunday, July 21, after officers responded to a local hospital in reference to a sexual assault of a child younger than 13. Police allege that the victim assaulted by McCall at a residence in the 3400 block of Harrison Avenue.
McCall, who was taken into custody the night of the incident, was reportedly in a relationship with the victim’s mother. He’s charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
McCall is lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. Bond is set at $500,000. His next court date is Aug. 22.
