Community invited to help decorate downtown for Stroll on State

Staff Report

ROCKFORD – In preparation for this year’s Stroll on State, the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) invites the community to volunteer to help decorate downtown Rockford this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23.

The Stroll on State experience comes to life each year thanks to hundreds of community partners and volunteers. Volunteering on decorating days is another chance for citizens to pitch in and be part of Rockford’s holiday tradition.

Decoration days will run from 8 a.m. to noon, and 1-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, during which time downtown will be transformed into a holiday wonderland featuring lighted trees, presents, garland and so much more.

Volunteer headquarters—known throughout Rockford as Santa’s Workshop—is located at 310 South Winnebago Street in Rockford. Upon arrival, volunteers will be officially assigned to various decoration zone teams. Park on street or surrounding public lots, noting posted signs and limits.

Those interested in volunteering to decorate may register in advance at www.StrollonState.com, or walk up to volunteer either day and time.

Stroll on State attracted more than 87,500 guests last year.
