Rain or shine, Stroll will go on downtown Rockford

Seventh annual event will occur as expected.

Staff Report

ROCKFORD – The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Rockford are closely monitoring the weather forecast for Saturday, Nov. 30, when the city hosts the seventh annual Stroll on State.

Based on current weather forecasts, the event will occur as expected, though the RACVB may provide further weather-related updates as we get closer to Saturday.

“Weather forecast will get more precise as we get closer to the event,” said RACVB President John Groh. “We are monitoring the forecast and will continue to do so. If we make any changes to the schedule of events, we will announce those through local media outlets and on GoRockford social media channels.”

Meantime, here are some items to consider as event officials monitor the weather the next few days.

  • Indoor Options Abound: downtown Rockford offers many great restaurants, retailers and civic spaces to enjoy during Stroll. Guests are encouraged to visit these establishments while getting out of the elements and supporting local businesses.
  • Plan Ahead: Bring your family, friends and holiday spirit to help us celebrate in downtown Rockford! And with a bit of rain and wind likely, remember to dress appropriately! Umbrellas are a smart idea, too!
  • Stay Updated Via Go Rockford Social: RACVB will continuously update the official Stroll on State Facebook page, as well as Go Rockford’s various social channels. To follow, search @GoRockford and #StrollOnState on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
