City of Rockford announces roof-replacement loan program

ROCKFORD – The City of Rockford Community and Economic Development Department on Thursday announced a new roof-replacement program.

The program will provide up to $30,000 in construction costs to rehabilitate the roof, gutters, soffit, and fascia on eligible homes.

The five-year forgivable loan program is available to income-eligible homeowners who meet program requirements. Applications will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be accepted March 9
through April 3.

Applications are available on the Neighborhood Development Programs page of the City’s website, and at City Hall, 425 E. State St., 2nd Floor.

Funding for this program is provided through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
