Winnebago County reports 6 new COVID-19 cases, 30 total

ROCKFORD – The Winnebago County Health Department, on Thursday, April 2, announced six new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 30.

“We know the disease is spreading in our community,” County Health Director Dr. Sandra Martell said. “To the people at him, stay home. Only go out for essential services.”

As of this report, a total of 43, 656 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Illinois. One Winnebago County resident has died from complications of the disease.

State officials are reminding citizens that they personal protective equipment (PPE) donations are welcome. To donate, email PPE.donations@illinois.gov.
