County announces two more COVID-related deaths, count now 7

ROCKFORD – Seven people have now died in Winnebago County from COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel corona virus, after two more deaths were announced Friday, April 10.
Details about the deaths have not been released.
The announcement comes just a day after two local residents, one who lived in a Rockford nursing home, succumbed to the virus that has now killed more than 600 people statewide.
There are now 93 positive cases of COVID-19 in Winnebago County.
According to models, Illinois is nearing its peak in new infections, but could see 1,000 or more COVID-related fatalities by August.
