Teen arrested inside Rockford hotel after east-side gun incident

ROCKFORD – A Rockford teen was arrested inside a Rockford hotel and charged with gun offenses after a shooting in a businesses parking lot last week.
Thursday, April 16, Rockford officers responded to the Fas Fuel on South Bell School Road after receiving a report of a subject shooting at a vehicle in the parking lot. After reviewing video footage, officers located the suspect inside a room at the nearby Red Roof Inn.
The suspect, a 17-year-old Rockford boy, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a person under 21, and no FOID.
No injuries were reported.
