City celebrates Rockford Day Aug. 13-15

ROCKFORD — Local officials are helping citizens celebrate Rockford Day this year by extending the celebration through the weekend.

Rockford Day is held annually on Aug.15. This year, there will be activities from Friday, Aug. 13 through Sunday, Aug. 15.

Rockford Day aims to showcase the people, places and things that make Rockford great with fun and interactive experiences throughout the city. The Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages everyone to use the hashtag #RockfordDay2021 or #815Day2021 in any social media posts about Rockford Day.

Rockford Day invites local businesses, agencies, non-profits, and other organizations from both the private and public sectors to join in the celebration by offering Rockford Day themed specials, discounts and events across the city and surrounding communities. Resident are encouraged to shop local, and take advantage of Rockford Day apparel specials going on at a host of participating business. Participating businesses will have Rockford Day offerings featured on the Rockford Day Facebook and Twitter pages, and may be included in various promotional media.
