Staff Report ROCKFORD - Auburn High School officials named a new girls basketball coach Tuesday, someone familiar to the game and the program. Assistant coach Taylor Griffin will take over as head coach for the 2020-21 season, pending approval from the Rockford School Board. The fact that Guilford (4-2) and Jefferson (4-2) are competing for conference championship isn’t a surprise. Auburn’s Belen Nevenhoven finishes second at IHSA tennis tournament

Staff Report BUFFALO GROVE – Belen Nevenhoven of Auburn got off to a strong start in her bid to become the first IHSA girls tennis champion in NIC-10 history. Leading 4-2 with a break point, she missed a volley that turned the match. Defending state champion Kiley Rabjohns rallied to win 10 of the next 13 games. The final score was 7-5, 6-2 for Rabjohns.
