Body recovered from Kishwaukee River in Belvidere

UPDATE: The body pulled from the Kishwaukee River Thursday has been identified as 23-year-old Kyle Rogers. It is not known if foul play is suspected. TRRT will have more on this story as it develops.

BELVIDERE — A body has been pulled from the Kishwaukee River at Belvidere Park.

According to published reports, police recovered the body Thursday night after a passerby called 911.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity or whether they suspect foul play. The park is in the vicinity of where police have been search for a missing Belvidere man.

Kyle Rogers, 23, was last seen walking near the 100 Block of South State Street late Thursday, May 10. He is a white male, 5-11, 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue “Max Effort” T-shirt, jeans and brown dress shoes.
