ROCKFORD – Nobody was injured Tuesday morning after shots were fired during an armed robbery on Rockford’s west side.

Police say the incident unfolded shortly after 1 a.m., in the 900 block of North Winnebago Street, where officers responded to a report of shots fired. At the scene, officers learned two males and a female were exiting a vehicle when two suspects approached the driver and robbed him at gunpoint.

The suspects then forced the other two victims to the ground, robbed them and fired several shots.

The suspects are described as black males, around 19. One was wearing a red jacket and ski mask. The other was wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight around his face.

Anyone with information is urged to call Rockford Police at 815-966-2900 or Crime Stoppers at 915-963-7867. R.
