Woman killed in Rockford crash
ROCKFORD – A 54-year-old woman was killed Saturday when the car she was driving collided with an oncoming vehicle on the city’s near-east side.
Just after 6 p.m., Rockford officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 3700 block of Broadway, where they say a westbound vehicle traveling crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle going east. The driver was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. Her name is not being released at this time.
Injuries suffered by a 15-year-old male passenger in the westbound vehicle and the 37-year-old male driver of the eastbound vehicle were not life threatening.
